Meet Mike

Mike Sipala started working in the sailing industry, repairing and rigging charter sailing yachts and newly sold sailing yachts, at 19 years of age. Over a span of 15 years in the yacht service industry, Mike developed and practiced multiple trades, including A/C, refrigeration, electrical, engine mechanical, paint work, welding, and metal fabrication - along with yacht rigging.

During his career of service, Mike has pursued his passion for sailing in all types of boats. His sailing pedigree includes offshore racing and delivery, inshore handicap racing, and one-design racing against local, national, and internationally recognized sailors. If it has sails, Mike will sail on it at least once!

Mike currently makes his home on a small farm in Kennedyville, Maryland, with wife Kristen and their dog Tiller. His specialty rigging shop is situated right next-door.

Our Facility

Our land-based shop is a 3,000 sq. ft. building with a 60-foot long workbench that houses 2 swage machines for our cable production and fitting storage.

One of the most unique things about our custom-built rigging shop is our completely sealed cordage room. We stock the best from Marlow and New England Ropes and our splicing bench can accommodate up to three splicing technicians at a time. This purpose-built room enables us to provide you with the finest quality finished products.
